Despite it being quite a stormy night, there was a good turn-out at our Neighbourhood Watch meeting in The Goat on Monday 8th February. Present were Superintendent John Hand, Sergeant Ivan Howlin and Community Garda Emma Woodlock, all of whom spoke in turn about the importance of Neighbourhood Watch, how it works, and how it benefits both the local community and the Gardaí. They also gave some practical advice relating to simple ‘do’s and ‘don’t’s around the house.
We’ve set up a separate section with more detail about how it all works, and we’ve listed all the advice given. Click here to go to the Neighbourhood Watch section.
We are also in the process of setting up a text alert system. We are endeavouring to collect as many mobile numbers as possible, and intend to have it set up shortly.
