New 30km/h Speed Limit

You are no doubt already aware that Larchfield, Mount Carmel, Friarsland, Farmhill, Belfield Downs will all be included in the new 30km per hour speed limit zone.

Many thanks to our local Councillor Karen Furlong who has been pushing hard for this at council level, and we’re delighted to have our area included.

We’re all aware of the rat-running problem through some of our roads, and this will be a great start to help reduce some drivers’ inappropriate speed. The council is planning to start advertising, lodging official documents, securing tenders etc. with a view to having all signage in place by the end of July. They will then start a monitoring process until October/November (to make sure they have back to school traffic).
