Santa Cycles Roebuck

The man in red is coming back to Roebuck for another whirlwind bike tour on Saturday, late afternoon, December 4th. The reindeer are following a strict training regime and will be on a rest day that Saturday, so he’ll be hand-delivering selection boxes to all the little Roebuckians using his trusty electric cargo bike. Be sure to come out and greet him as he goes by.

His elves have put together an approximate schedule of when he’ll visit each road. You can see that below. The elves have advised us that this schedule is very approximate (he’s far too important to follow rules), but it’ll give you an idea of roughly when to expect him.

Halloween Party!

Halloween Party, 30th November 5 to 7pm

Take the Survey

We are planning a Halloween gathering on Saturday 30th October from 5pm-7pm on the green in front of the shops. We hope you can join us for this gathering and that both kids and adults can make the effort to come in some sort of Halloween attire.

With the times that are in it, we would ask you to please adhere to Covid guidelines. There will be hand sterilisation points around the green that we’d encourage you and your kids to use throughout. As it will be dark at that time, we ask all parents to take full responsibility for their children around road safety, especially around the Farmhill and Larchfield Road junctions.

Please take this very short survey, so that we can gauge numbers:

Hospice Collection – Amount Raised

€665 was collected via this year’s method of leaving collection boxes in the shops at the Green. We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to this very worthy cause, and a special thanks goes to Mairéad Joyce for organising this once again. The Committee agreed to top up the figure by €335, and the final cheque sent into Our Lady’s Hospice was for €1,000.

Hospice Coffee Morning

There will be no Outdoor Coffee Morning on the Green for the Hospice collection this year.

Instead a Hospice Box has been left in Roebuck Pharmacy, and 2 boxes have been left in Lynam’s. You can have a coffee in Lynam’s and make a donation. These boxes will be in situ until the end of this month.

Blackrock and Harold’s Cross Hospice are very thankful for our support. Please give as generously as you can.
Thanks again to Mairéad for organising.
