There was a really good turnout for our annual Spring Clean on April 1st. Groups of residents covered all the roads in our area, mostly concentrating on tidying verges, cutting grass, cutting back bushes and picking up litter. In fact we ran out of bags we had such a good turnout! Once the work was finished at 12pm, everyone headed back to the green in front of the shops where tea, coffee and cake was donated by Lynam’s for all the tired workers.

In addition we were delighted to notice that some residents who couldn’t make it on the day did great work in the days beforehand, while others did their bit in the days following. All roads were improved, and overall, the area now looks very neat and tidy.
Thanks to DLR Council for taking away all the rubbish and cuttings the following Monday, especially the huge volume of brambles etc. that had been cleared from the green area at the end of Friarsland Road.
