Note: The text below is a draft. As we are a new residents’ association, we are still discussing where we stand in matters of planning. We are happy to receive any feedback in relation to this.

Planning can be a very subjective issue. If your neighbour submits a planning application to the County Council then you should examine it. Do not depend on another neighbour or the Residents’ Association to do that for you. What concerns you personally may not interest other residents. If possible, it is advisable to meet with the applicant before they submit an application and iron out any concerns in advance. If some aspect of the application concerns you then put your concerns in writing to the Planning Department in DLR County Council.

Roebuck Residents’ Association will only become involved if the application involves material change to the streetscape or the environment.

We will also review requests from a group of residents but cannot become involved when there are conflicting concerns from local residents.

If you wish to make an objection/observation to a planning application, you can find the procedures on the DLR County Council website –

The Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government have produced some leaflets regarding making a planning application and commenting on one. You can find these leaflets here –
