Roebuck Residents’ Coffee Morning
We had our first Roebuck Residents’ Coffee Morning on Wednesday morning in Farmhill Restaurant. The local area’s young at heart residents were invited along for tea and coffee and conversation (over 50 households had an invitation dropped through their letterbox).
It was a great success with about 25 residents attending, including a former residents’ association chairman and honourary secretary, who regaled us of times past. The area twice won the Tidy Districts competition in previous years – now there’s a challenge!
One resident present has been living here for 65 years, and a couple more have been here for over 60 years.
Thanks to the Farmhill Restaurant for hosting, and thanks too to John Mullins’ group for organising.
The next coffee morning with be in September. In the meantime Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has just published a “comprehensive Directory of Services”, which will be circulated by the group during the summer, along with our own “insert” of useful local information and contacts.
If you know of any resident who would like to come along to the next one, but who we somehow missed, please let us know. Also, anyone interested in helping this hugely worthwhile initiative, please email us at roebuckresidents@gmail.com.
