Spring Clean, Rosemount Pitches – Saturday 23 April 10.30am
April is the month for the National Spring Clean. Operated by An Taisce, in conjunction with DLR County Council, last year over 519,000 people took part all over Ireland.
This year we thought we’d play our part. So we’re doing a spring clean at the Rosemount pitches. Anyone who walks around these fields knows the perimeters are full of rubbish, and it would be great to get it cleaned up. If we get enough volunteers, we can reassign some people to tackle other roads. We intend to enter the Tidy Districts Competition this year, and this will be a great start to getting the area in shape.
We plan to meet at the pedestrian entrance to the Rosemount pitches (by the big rocks) at 10.30a.m. on Saturday 23rd April, and aim to be finished by 12p.m. When finished, everyone can meet back at the shops. (The rubbish will be collected from the green in front of the shops by the council the following Monday.)
Please RSVP if you would like to help. It would be good to get an idea of numbers before the day. We’ll also send out a reminder email a few days beforehand.
Please join with your neighbours and help give the area a quick once over. Many hands make light work!
Gloves, bags and litter pickers will be provided, and all ages are welcome!
